Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and water until it forms a smooth paste.
  • Slowly add the vinegar to the baking soda mixture and watch it bubble and fizz.
  • Once the fizzing subsides, add a few drops of food coloring or natural dye and mix until fully combined.
  • Scoop the mixture into your chosen molds, packing it firmly into little shapes.
  • Place the filled molds on a baking sheet and allow them to dry for at least 24 hours.
  • Once firm, gently remove the rocks from the molds.
  • Allow the rocks to cure for another day or two until they harden completely.
  • Admire your handiwork and enjoy the colorful treasures.

Notes

Store rocks in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. They can be reused or crushed into a fine powder for other projects.
