Materials

  • 1 cup Baking soda A generous amount divided into cups.
  • 1 cup White vinegar Commonly used vinegar for the reaction.
  • 4-5 drops Food coloring (various colors) Choose multiple colors for a spectacular display.
  • 1-2 pieces Plastic cups or containers For mixing baking soda and vinegar.
  • 1 piece Tray or baking sheet To catch spills during the reaction.
  • 1 piece Spoon or dropper For pouring vinegar into the cups.

Preparation

  • Lay out newspaper or a plastic cover on your working surface.
  • Set your tray or baking sheet down to catch any overflow.

Creating the Fireworks

  • Spoon a generous amount of baking soda into each plastic cup.
  • Add 4–5 drops of food coloring into each cup with baking soda.
  • Using a spoon or dropper, pour vinegar slowly into each cup.
  • Watch closely as the reaction begins and observe the fizzing, bubbling, and rising action.
  • Stand back and enjoy the colorful eruption, resembling fireworks.

Notes

Customize colors, shapes, or add glitter for an enhanced experience. Store leftover materials properly for future use.
