Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Watch as the mixture fizzes and bubbles.
  • Gradually stir in 1/4 cup cornstarch to create a dough-like consistency.

Rolling Out the Dough

  • Place the dough on a piece of parchment paper and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • The dough should feel smooth and pliable.

Cutting Out Ornaments

  • Use your favorite cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the rolled dough.
  • Use a straw to create a small hole at the top of each ornament for hanging.

Baking the Ornaments

  • Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C) to ensure it dries rather than bakes.
  • Place the cut-out shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 1-2 hours until they are hard and dry to the touch.

Decorating

  • Once cooled, bring out your glitter, paint, or food coloring to decorate your ornaments.
  • Thread a piece of string or ribbon through the hole to hang.

Notes
