  • 5 pieces Balloons (easy to find in various colors)
  • 1/4 cup Baking soda Substitute-friendly if necessary
  • 1/2 cup Vinegar A staple in many kitchens
  • 1 piece Funnel (or a piece of paper if a funnel is not available)
  • 1 piece Plastic bottle (a standard soda bottle works well)
  • Optional Food coloring To add a visual delight
  • 1 set Measuring spoons For precise amounts

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by taking your plastic bottle and adding about 1/4 cup of baking soda into it.
  • If you wish to add color, drop a few drops of food coloring into the bottle on top of the baking soda.
  • Step gently to fill your balloon. Use the funnel for ease and pour about 1/2 cup of vinegar into it.
  • Carefully stretch the opening of the balloon over the top of the bottle to form a secure seal.

Execution

  • Lift the balloon upright, allowing the vinegar to flow into the baking soda.
  • Enjoy the fizz as the white foam rises and listen to the gentle fizzing sounds of the mixture.
  • Once the reaction subsides, display your creation in a sunny window or on a shelf.
