  • as needed Wax paper or parchment paper
  • as needed Plastic straws or beads For hanging purposes.

  • 1 Spoon or spatula
  • 1 Oven or microwave For melting if needed.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine your bioplastic material (gelatin or corn starch) with hot water.
  • Stir well to dissolve completely, creating a smooth mixture.
  • Incorporate food coloring into your mixture and mix thoroughly until you achieve your desired color intensity.

Shaping and Setting

  • Pour the colored bioplastic into your flower molds or press into cookie cutters placed on wax paper.
  • Fill the molds generously to create a sturdy suncatcher.
  • Insert plastic straws or beads at the tops of your flowers for easy hanging. Ensure they are secure within the mixture.
  • Let the mixture sit for several hours or until fully set; alternatively, you can place them in an oven at low heat to speed up the process.
  • Once set, carefully remove from molds.

Display Your Art

  • Hang your suncatchers in windows or outdoor areas to catch the sun and showcase the vibrant colors.
