Ingredients
  

For the mixture

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon glycerin Available at pharmacies.
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Can be substituted with tapioca starch or arrowroot powder for gluten-free.

For decoration

  • as needed food coloring Various colors for customization.
  • as needed flower petals or leaves Real or artificial.
  • as needed wax paper or parchment paper
  • as needed cookie cutters Flower shapes.
  • optional paintbrush For applying mixture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, combine water, glycerin, corn syrup, and cornstarch.
  • Mix well and heat slowly over medium heat. Stir constantly until it thickens, about 5-10 minutes.

Coloring

  • Once thickened, remove from heat and divide the mixture into separate containers.
  • Add food coloring to each container, stirring to achieve desired colors.

Shaping

  • Place sheets of wax paper or parchment paper on flat surfaces.
  • Use cookie cutters to create flower shapes, or free-form your designs.
  • Pour the colored mixture into the shapes, filling them halfway.

Adding Natural Elements

  • Gently place petals or leaves onto the mixture.
  • Pour a little more mixture on top to encapsulate them.

Drying

  • Allow the suncatchers to dry at room temperature for around 24-48 hours until firm and clear.
  • Once dry, carefully peel off the wax paper.

Display

  • Hang your suncatchers in windows or on walls to catch the light and showcase your creativity!

Notes

Experiment with different food color combinations, and use various flowers or shapes for a unique look. Add glitter or small beads for a sparkling effect.
