  • 1 sheet Baking sheet For the shaping process.

  • as needed Scissors For trimming the edges of the sun catchers.
  • optional Glitter or natural embellishments (flowers, leaves) For added decoration.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, mix together the cornstarch, vinegar, and corn syrup.
  • Heat over medium-low while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens, resembling a gel.

Add Color

  • Divide the thickened mixture into different bowls.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix well to achieve your desired shades.

Shape Your Catchers

  • Line a baking sheet with wax paper and lightly spray with non-stick spray.
  • Pour your colored bioplastic mixtures onto the wax paper, spreading them into various shapes like circles or hearts.
  • Create fun patterns or swirls using different colors.

Dry the Sun Catchers

  • Allow the shapes to dry for 24-48 hours until completely solid.
  • Gently peel the bioplastic shapes from the wax paper once dry.

Final Touches

  • Use scissors to trim any uneven edges if needed.
  • If you want to hang them, punch a small hole at the top and use string or fishing line.

Customize Colors: Experiment with different shades and layers for a multifaceted look. Add Sparkle: Incorporate glitter or natural elements like small flowers or leaves into the mixture before pouring into shapes.
