Prepare Your Mixture

  • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 3 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup.
  • Stir well to dissolve the cornstarch completely.

Cook the Mixture

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat.
  • Continuously stir the mixture until it thickens, resembling a translucent gel texture (about 5-7 minutes).

  • Divide the mixture into separate bowls, adding a few drops of food coloring to each. Mix until you achieve your desired colors.

  • Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes, pouring the colored bioplastic mixture into the cutouts.

Drying

  • Allow your sun catchers to dry for at least 24 hours.

Finishing Touch

  • Poke a small hole at the top of each sun catcher.
  • Thread string or fishing line through the hole for hanging.

Notes

Customize the colors, add glitter for sparkle, or use natural elements like flower petals for added texture. Always supervise children during cooking.
