  • Stir the mixture over medium heat until it thickens and becomes translucent (approximately 5 minutes).
  • The mixture should feel gooey and sticky when done.

Adding Color

  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Divide the mixture into smaller bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl.
  • Stir well to create vibrant colors.

Shaping Suncatchers

  • Lay a piece of wax paper or parchment paper on a flat surface.
  • Pour the colored mixtures onto the wax paper, spreading them to your desired shapes.
  • Use cookie cutters or molds to create fun designs.
  • Aim for a thickness of about 1/4 inch for durability.

Drying

  • Let your suncatchers dry completely. This may take several hours or overnight.
  • Once dry, carefully peel them off the wax paper.

Finishing Touches

  • Use scissors to trim any rough edges.
  • Attach string or fishing line to hang your suncatchers in a sunny window.
  • Notice how light shines through your creations, illuminating vibrant colors.
