Instructions

Preparation

  • Set up a clean, flat area where you can work comfortably. Lay down parchment paper on your baking sheet for easy removal later.

Mix the Bioplastic

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of cornstarch with 4 cups of water.
  • Stir the mixture with a whisk or spoon until it becomes smooth.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of corn syrup to the mix and stir well.

Add Color

  • Divide the mixture into different bowls, depending on how many colors you want to create.
  • Add food coloring or natural dyes to each bowl, adjusting the intensity to your preference.

Pour and Shape

  • Carefully pour the colored mixtures onto the parchment paper. You can create circles or any shapes you desire.
  • Use cookie cutters for fun shapes, if desired.

Create Holes

  • If you'd like to hang your suncatchers, use a hole punch to make a hole near the top before the mixture sets.

Dry the Suncatchers

  • Leave the suncatchers to dry for at least 24 hours, or until completely solid.

Hang and Enjoy

  • Once dry, gently peel them off the parchment paper.
  • Thread a string or ribbon through the hole and hang your colorful suncatchers in a sunny window!
