  • 1 sheet Bioplastic sheets (such as PLA or starch-based films)
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting the bioplastic sheets.
  • various colors Permanent markers (various colors) For designing your suncatcher.
  • 1 bottle Craft glue For attaching decorations.
  • 1 piece Hole punch For creating a hole for hanging.
  • 1 length String or fishing line For hanging the suncatcher.
  • optional beads or sequins Optional decorations.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface to work on.
  • Gather all materials into reach.

Design

  • Sketch your design on paper first.
  • Use permanent markers to draw your chosen design onto the bioplastic sheet.
  • Be creative! Swirls, flowers, or geometric shapes work well.

Cutting

  • Carefully cut around your drawn design using scissors.
  • If needed, create additional smaller shapes to layer on top.

Decorating

  • Use craft glue to attach beads or sequins to enhance your suncatcher.
  • Consider adding multiple layers for a 3D effect.

Finishing

  • Use a hole puncher to create a small hole at the top of your suncatcher.
  • Be sure it is at least 1/2 inch from the edges.
  • Cut a length of string or fishing line.
  • Feed it through the hole and tie securely for hanging.
  • Hang your suncatcher in a sunny window and enjoy the colorful light play!

Notes

Experiment with color layering, create seasonal designs, use cookie cutters as templates, and incorporate glow-in-the-dark materials for added effects.
