  • 1 roll Clear contact paper This will be used to seal the suncatcher.
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting the bioplastic into desired shapes.
  • 1 set Non-toxic acrylic paints or permanent markers Choose colors that will stand out.
  • 1 piece Paintbrush (if using acrylic paints) Optional, if you choose to paint.
  • 1 each Hole punch Needed for creating a hole for hanging.
  • 1 length String or fishing line For hanging the suncatcher.

  • Find a clean area: Lay down newspaper or an old sheet.
  • Gather materials: Ensure everything is within reach for easy crafting.

Creating Your Suncatchers

  • Cut the bioplastic sheets into various shapes using scissors (e.g., circles, stars, hearts).
  • Design your art using non-toxic acrylic paints or permanent markers to add colorful designs on the bioplastic.
  • Experiment with swirling colors or layering to create depth.
  • If using paints, allow your artwork to dry completely (approximately 30 minutes).
  • Seal your design by placing a piece of clear contact paper over your painted suncatcher.
  • Punch a hole at the top of your suncatcher using a hole punch.
  • Thread a piece of string or fishing line through the hole to hang.
