Preparation

  • Find a comfortable crafting area: Lay down newspaper or a cloth for easy cleanup.
  • Gather your materials: Ensure you have everything within reach.

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 175°F (80°C) to get it ready for melting the crayons.

Prepare the Crayons

  • Peel the crayons: Remove the wrappers carefully to avoid breaking them.
  • Break into small pieces: Chop the crayons into smaller chunks (around 1-inch pieces) for even melting.

Arrange on Baking Sheet

  • Line the baking sheet: Place parchment paper on the sheet for easy removal.
  • Create your design: Use cookie cutters to create shapes and fill them with crayon pieces. Mix and match colors for unique effects.

Melt the Crayons

  • Bake in oven: Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the crayons melt for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Watch closely: Look for a smooth, liquid texture without bubbling.

Cool and Remove

  • Let cool: Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely until solid.
  • Pop out the shapes: Carefully remove the suncatchers from the cookie cutters.

Seal (Optional)

  • Apply acrylic sealer: If desired, use a brush to apply sealer for extra shine and durability.

Hang and Display

  • Thread with string or fishing line: Create a loop for hanging.
  • Find the perfect spot: Hang your suncatchers in a sunny window to enjoy their colorful display.

Notes
