  • 1 each Silicone mold in a raindrop shape Easy to find
  • 1 each Baking sheet
  • 1 each Oven (or a heat source for melting)
  • 1 each Parchment paper (optional for extra protection)
  • 1 each Toothpicks or skewer For swirling colors
  • 1 each String or ribbon For hanging

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to a gentle temperature, around 200°F (93°C).
  • Break the blue crayons into small pieces.
  • Place the broken pieces into your silicone mold.

Melting

  • Once the oven reaches the right temperature, carefully place the baking sheet with the mold inside.
  • After about 10-15 minutes, the crayons will have melted into smooth puddles.
  • If mixing shades, use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the melted crayon.

Cooling and Finishing Touches

  • Carefully remove the mold from the oven and let it cool completely.
  • Once cool, gently pop the suncatchers out of the mold.
  • Tie a piece of string or ribbon through the top of the raindrop shape for hanging.

Notes

Lightly dust them with a soft cloth occasionally to maintain their shine. Be mindful of direct sunlight to avoid softening the wax. You can reuse the suncatchers by melting them down again for new designs.
