  • blue crayons pieces Blue crayons (any shade) Use any available blue crayons.
  • 2 sheets Wax paper Cut into rectangles or desired shapes.
  • 1 piece Iron With supervision for younger crafters.
  • 1 piece Pencil or scissors For cutting the wax paper and shapes.
  • 1 piece Flower or heart-shaped cookie cutters Optional for shaping the suncatchers.
  • 1 piece String or fishing line For hanging the suncatchers.

Instructions
 

Preparing Your Workspace

  • Lay down newspaper or a cloth to protect surfaces.
  • Preheat your iron to a low setting without steam.

Crayon Preparation

  • Use a pencil sharpener or knife to shave blue crayons into small flakes.
  • The finer the shavings, the better they will melt.

Layering the Wax Paper

  • Cut two pieces of wax paper into rectangles or desired shapes.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of blue crayon shavings onto the center of one piece of wax paper.

Sealing the Craft

  • Place the second piece of wax paper on top, sandwiching the crayon shavings inside.
  • Cover the wax paper with a thin cloth and gently press the warm iron over it for a few seconds, moving in circles.
  • Let it cool for a minute before handling.

Cutting and Hanging

  • Cut your suncatcher into desired shapes, such as hearts or flowers, using cookie cutters or scissors.
  • Punch a small hole at the top and thread the string or fishing line through.

Notes

Mix colors to create vibrant effects; use various cookie cutter shapes for different occasions; optional to layer textures with fine glitter or paper.
