Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 6 tablespoons Borax powder For creating the crystals
  • 2 cups Water Boiling water is required
  • as needed colors Pipe cleaners (various colors) To form the flowers
  • 1 jar A clear, wide-mouth jar For holding the Borax solution
  • as needed optional String To tie the flowers if desired
  • 1 spoon A spoon for stirring
  • as needed drops Food coloring For adding colors to the crystals, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Take the pipe cleaners and twist them into flower shapes. Be creative!
  • Use multiple colors to create contrast and vibrant designs.

Mixing the Solution

  • Boil about 2 cups of water in a pot.
  • Carefully pour the hot water into a jar.
  • Slowly stir in 6 tablespoons of Borax powder until fully dissolved.

Adding Color

  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the solution for colored crystals.

Submerging Flowers

  • Tie a string around your pipe cleaner flower. If not using string, gently place it in the jar.
  • Ensure the flower is fully submerged in the Borax solution.

Crystal Formation

  • Set the jar in a quiet place where it won’t be disturbed.
  • Leave it for several hours or overnight to allow crystals to form.

Finishing Touch

  • Carefully remove the flower from the solution.
  • Rinse it gently under cold water to remove any excess Borax.

Notes

Customize colors and shapes for unique creations. Alternatively, use glitter in the solution for added sparkle.
