  • 2-3 jars or cups Jars or cups Used to hold the Borax solution

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all materials on a clean, flat surface.
  • Choose your desired pipe cleaner colors and shapes for your flowers.

Create the Flowers

  • Twist pipe cleaners into the shape of flowers.
  • Use multiple pipe cleaners to create fuller flowers.

Prepare the Borax Solution

  • Boil 2 cups of water in a pot.
  • Gradually add 1 cup of Borax to the boiling water, stirring continuously until fully dissolved.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a minute.

Set Up Crystal Growth

  • Pour the Borax solution into clean jars or cups, filling them about three-quarters full.
  • Use a pencil or stick to suspend the pipe cleaner flowers in the solution, ensuring they do not touch the bottom.
  • Optional: Add food coloring to the solution for vibrant flowers.

Let the Crystals Form

  • Place the jars/cups in a cool, undisturbed location.
  • Wait for 6-12 hours (or longer) to see the crystals form around the flowers.
  • Carefully remove your Borax crystal flowers and enjoy!

Notes

Customize shapes with different twisted pipe cleaners and try adding glitter for sparkle. Store crystal flowers in a dry place to prevent dissolving.
