Instructions
Preparation
- Boil 3 cups of water in a kettle or on the stove.
- Gradually add 1 cup of borax powder while stirring continuously.
- Add food coloring if desired for a colorful effect.
Set Up Your Gem Formation
- Shape your pipe cleaner into a desired form (star, heart, etc.).
- Attach a piece of string to the shape and tie it to a pencil or stick.
- Hang the shape in the jar by resting the pencil on the top of the jar, ensuring it doesn't touch the bottom.
Pour and Wait
- Carefully pour the borax solution into the jar, making sure to submerge the pipe cleaner shape fully.
- Allow the jar to sit undisturbed for several hours or overnight.
Reveal Your Crystal Gems
- Remove the jar cap and gently pull out your crystal formation.
