Ingredients
  

Crystal Formation Materials

  • 1 cup borax powder
  • 3 cups boiling water

  • 1 jar or glass container Clear containers allow better visibility of crystal formation.
  • 1 string or pipe cleaners Used to shape and suspend the crystals.
  • 1 pencil or stick To hang the shaped pipe cleaner in the jar.
  • 1 heat-resistant surface Ensure safety when handling boiling water.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Boil 3 cups of water in a kettle or on the stove.
  • Gradually add 1 cup of borax powder while stirring continuously.
  • Add food coloring if desired for a colorful effect.

Set Up Your Gem Formation

  • Shape your pipe cleaner into a desired form (star, heart, etc.).
  • Attach a piece of string to the shape and tie it to a pencil or stick.
  • Hang the shape in the jar by resting the pencil on the top of the jar, ensuring it doesn't touch the bottom.

Pour and Wait

  • Carefully pour the borax solution into the jar, making sure to submerge the pipe cleaner shape fully.
  • Allow the jar to sit undisturbed for several hours or overnight.

Reveal Your Crystal Gems

  • Remove the jar cap and gently pull out your crystal formation.
  • Let them dry on a paper towel and admire your sparkling crystal gems!
