Ingredients
  

For the Crystal Solution

  • 1/2 cup Borax Recommended for its unique crystallization properties.
  • 2 cups Hot water Use boiling water for effective dissolving.

For Assembly

  • 1 piece Heat-resistant container (like a glass jar) Ensure it's suitable for hot water.
  • 1 string String or a pipe cleaner Used to shape the heart and suspend it.
  • 1 stick Pencil or stick For suspending the heart in the solution.
  • As desired amount Food coloring (optional) To create colorful crystals.
  • As desired amount Glitter (optional) For added sparkle.

Preparation

  • Take the pipe cleaner and shape it into a heart. This will be the base for your crystals to grow on.
  • Tie the pipe cleaner heart to the pencil or stick with a string to suspend it in the solution.

Creating the Borax Solution

  • In a heat-resistant container, mix 1/2 cup of Borax into 2 cups of hot water. Stir well until completely dissolved.
  • Optional: Add a few drops of food coloring to create colored crystals.

Submerging the Heart

  • Dip the pipe cleaner heart into the solution, ensuring that it’s fully submerged but not touching the bottom.

Letting it Set

  • Leave the container undisturbed at room temperature for several hours or overnight.

Finalizing the Crystals

  • Once sufficient crystals form, take the heart out of the solution and rinse it briefly under cool water.

Notes

Customize colors using various food colorings and experiment with different shapes like stars or flowers. To create larger crystals, increase the Borax and water amount.
