Preparation

  • Gather all materials in one place to ensure a smooth crafting experience.
  • Lay down paper towels to catch any spills.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of corn starch and 1/4 cup of baking soda.
  • Stir them together with a spoon or whisk until well combined.
  • Slowly pour in 1/4 cup of white vinegar and watch as it fizzes and bubbles!
  • Add 1 tablespoon of corn syrup to the mixture and stir until it thickens into a gooey paste.

Coloring and Shaping

  • Divide the mixture into smaller bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each, creating unique designs.
  • Using your hands, take small portions of the colored mixture and roll them into balls.
  • Place each ball into silicone molds, or shape them gently in your hands if not using molds.

Drying

  • Let the balls air dry for at least 24 hours.
  • For faster results, you can bake them in the oven at a low temperature (around 200°F or 90°C) for about 1 hour.
  • Once dry, gently remove them from the molds.

Final Touch

  • Test your creations by bouncing them on a smooth surface and enjoy!

Notes

Tips: Experiment with different scents by swapping vinegar for lemon juice. Add glitter for sparkly balls or use essential oils for a fragrant twist.
