  • 2-3 tablespoons Baking soda
  • 1/4 cup White vinegar Any type of vinegar will work, but white is preferred.

  • 1 small container A small container or cup For mixing the ingredients.
  • 1 tray Tray or large baking sheet To catch spills during the eruption.
  • 1 Spoon or dropper For mixing and adding vinegar.

Preparation

  • Lay down a tray or large baking sheet to catch spills.
  • Gather all your materials within easy reach.

Mixing

  • Add 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda to your small container.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring into the baking soda for a colorful eruption.

Creating the Eruption

  • Pour about 1/4 cup of vinegar into the container with the baking soda.
  • Observe the bubbly eruption and enjoy the spectacle.
  • Experiment by adding more vinegar or baking soda.

Notes

For variations, swap vinegar with lemon juice, use different food colorings for layers, or add glitter for extra fun. Adult supervision is recommended for safety.
