  • 1 unit Iron To melt crayon shavings.
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper To cover your project while ironing.
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting the suncatcher shape.
  • 1 optional Butterfly template or printout For shaping your suncatcher.
  • 1 length String or fishing line For hanging your suncatcher.

Preparation

  • Set up a clean and flat surface to work on.
  • Lay out your wax paper and gather your materials.

Crafting

  • Use the pencil sharpener to shave crayons into small pieces.
  • Place a piece of wax paper on your workspace.
  • Sprinkle the crayon shavings on one half of the wax paper, creating a colorful design.
  • Fold the other half of the wax paper over the shavings, ensuring edges line up.
  • Place parchment paper over the wax paper sandwich and carefully iron on low heat for a few seconds.
  • Allow it to cool before cutting out a butterfly shape.
  • Punch a small hole at the top of the butterfly and thread a string through for hanging.
