  • 1 roll Clear contact paper or transparent film For creating the suncatcher structure.
  • various sheets Tissue paper in various colors For adding color to the suncatcher.
  • 1 pair Scissors To cut the materials.
  • 1 optional Butterfly stencil For creating a butterfly shape.
  • 1 optional Markers or crayons For adding designs or details.
  • 1 length String or fishing line For hanging the suncatcher.
  • 1 clean Surface to work on To ensure your workspace is ready.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Find a clean, flat surface to work on, ensuring the area is free from dust.

Create Your Design

  • Use your butterfly stencil or draw freehand to outline the butterfly shape on a piece of contact paper.
  • Cut out the butterfly shape and place it sticky-side up on your workspace.

Add Color

  • Tear or cut the tissue paper into small pieces or shapes.
  • Arrange the colored tissue paper on the butterfly shape, covering it completely. Feel free to mix and match colors to create stunning patterns!

Seal Your Creation

  • Cut another piece of contact paper to the same size as your butterfly and carefully place it on top of the tissue paper. Smooth out any air bubbles with your fingers.

Cut Out the Butterfly

  • Trim around the edges of your butterfly to remove any excess contact paper, ensuring a neat finish.

Hang Your Suncatcher

  • Use string or fishing line to hang your butterfly in a sunny window. Watch as it displays a beautiful array of colors when sunlight shines through!

Notes

Customize designs with different stencils or freehand styles. You can incorporate glitter or textures for added sparkle. Experiment with seasonal themes like autumn leaves or winter snowflakes.
