Ingredients
  

Craft Materials

  • Assorted buttons Assorted buttons (red, green, black) Use a variety of colors for a vibrant design.
  • 1 piece Craft foam or thick cardboard For the base of the watermelon.
  • 1 bottle Craft glue or hot glue gun To secure the buttons.
  • 1 pair Scissors To cut the base and felt leaves.
  • Optional Green felt For making leaves.
  • Optional Markers For detailing on the watermelon.
  • Optional Hanging string For wall decor or a keychain.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the craft foam or cardboard into a watermelon shape—either oval or round.
  • Select red buttons for the flesh, green buttons for the rind, and black buttons for the seeds.

Arrange the Design

  • Lay out the buttons on the base without gluing them to visualize your design.
  • Cover most of the base with red buttons to form the watermelon flesh.
  • Use green buttons around the edges for the rind.
  • Place black buttons sporadically to represent watermelon seeds.

Glue It Down

  • One by one, apply glue to each button and press them firmly onto the base.
  • Enjoy the satisfying feeling as the buttons stick securely.

Add Finishing Touches

  • Cut out small leaves from green felt and glue them to the top if desired.
  • Use markers to add any additional accents or details.

Notes

Experiment with different colored buttons to create various fruit styles. Layer multiple buttons for a more textured appearance. Add string to transform your craft into a wearable keychain or decorative piece.
