  • 1 bottle Clear glue (preferably washable) Acts as both adhesive and a medium for colors.
  • 2-3 sheets Wax paper or clear plastic sheets Cut into desired shapes.
  • various Food coloring or liquid watercolors Use to mix different colors.
  • 1 optional Small paintbrush For applying colored glue.
  • 1 pair Scissors To cut the shapes.
  • optional Glitter, beads, or sequins For additional embellishments.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface for crafting and lay down some newspapers or a disposable tablecloth for easy cleanup.
  • Cut pieces of wax paper or clear plastic sheets into your desired suncatcher shapes: circles, hearts, or any fun designs.

Color Mixing

  • In small cups, combine the clear glue with drops of food coloring or watercolors to create different colors. Mix well until the colors are vibrant.

Design Creation

  • Using a paintbrush or directly from the cup, spread the colored glue onto the wax paper in shapes or patterns of your choice.
  • Sprinkle glitter or place beads/sequins into the glue design while it’s still wet for extra flair.

Drying and Display

  • Allow the suncatchers to dry completely, which may take a few hours. Once fully dried, gently peel them off the wax paper.
  • Use tape or suction hooks to display the suncatchers on your windows, and watch as the sunlight causes the colors to glow.

Tips: Experiment with cookie cutters for custom shapes, apply multiple layers of colors for texture, create seasonal designs based on holidays, and try different papers for various finishes.
