  • a few drops Food coloring or liquid watercolors Choose colors as desired.
  • 1 sheet Wax paper or plastic wrap Used as the base for your suncatcher.
  • 1 Mixing bowl For mixing glue and color.
  • 1 Craft stick or spoon For mixing glue and color.
  • as needed Scissors Optional, for cutting shapes.
  • as needed String or ribbon Optional, for hanging the suncatcher.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Lay down your wax paper or plastic wrap on a flat surface. This will be the base for your suncatcher.
  • Pour a small amount of clear glue into a mixing bowl.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors, and stir well with a craft stick or spoon until you achieve your desired color.

Creating the Design

  • Use the colored glue to create shapes on the wax paper. You can swirl colors together, make patterns, or even write letters.
  • Remember to leave some space for the colors to blend!

Drying

  • Let the suncatcher sit undisturbed for at least 24 hours, or until fully dry. The glue will become translucent and flexible.

Cutting and Hanging

  • Once dry, carefully peel the suncatcher off the wax paper.
  • You can cut it into different shapes if desired.
  • Use string or ribbon to hang your suncatcher in a sunny window.

Notes

Experiment with different shades, add texture with glitter or beads, and try using stencils for unique designs. Washable glue can be used, but won't be as clear when dried.
