Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay down newspaper or a protective covering to keep your area clean.
  • Gather all the materials needed for easy access.

Creating the Base

  • Cut your wax paper or plastic sheet to the desired size for your suncatcher.
  • If you want a specific shape (like a heart or star), draw an outline with a pencil.

Mixing Colors

  • In small containers, add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors to clear glue.
  • Experiment by mixing different colors to see new shades and create unique hues.

Applying the Glue Mixture

  • Using your paintbrush or simply your fingers, spread the colored glue onto the wax paper in your desired pattern.
  • Think about layering different colors for added depth.

Drying

  • Allow the suncatcher to dry completely. This may take several hours or overnight, depending on the thickness of the glue.

Trimming and Displaying

  • Once dry, carefully peel the suncatcher from the wax paper.
  • Use scissors to trim any excess edges for a neat finish.
  • Hang it in a sunny window and watch it shine!

Notes

Consider adding glitter to the glue mix for extra sparkle, or try using colored cellophane for different effects.
