  • 8 cups all-purpose flour You can substitute with whole wheat flour for a different texture.
  • 1 cup baby oil You may use vegetable oil or coconut oil as alternatives.
  • 1 cup water Add gradually until desired consistency is achieved.
  • food coloring (optional, for color) Use to customize the color of the dough.
  • essential oil (optional, for scent) Lavender or citrus oils can enhance the sensory experience.

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface to work on and gather your materials.
  • Lay down a large piece of paper or a tablecloth for easy cleanup.

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 8 cups of flour and ensure it’s evenly distributed.
  • Pour in 1 cup of baby oil and mix until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
  • If using food coloring and essential oils, add a few drops now and mix until the color is uniform.
  • Slowly pour in 1 cup of water while mixing continuously, checking the texture.

Kneading and Storing

  • Once combined, knead the dough with your hands for about 5 minutes to enhance its softness.
  • Store the cloud dough in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

Notes

For colorful dough: separate into smaller bowls for different colors. This recipe can be doubled for larger batches. Keep in mind that cloud dough is not meant for baking or cooking—it’s for play! Store it properly to maintain its quality for up to 3 months.
