Cloud Dough Playdough
This easy recipe for cloud dough playdough combines simple ingredients to create a fluffy and versatile sensory material perfect for children's play.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar (optional) Can be omitted
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup vegetable oil Can be substituted with coconut oil for a different texture and scent
- 1 cup water
- food coloring (optional) Use multiple colors or natural dyes for variety
- essential oils for scent (optional) Add a few drops as desired
Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and optional cream of tartar. Stir until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the vegetable oil and water. Add food coloring if desired and stir until blended.
- Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing continuously until a dough begins to form.
- Turn the mixture out onto a clean surface. Knead the dough with your hands until it reaches a fluffy, soft consistency, about 2-3 minutes.
- If using, add a few drops of essential oils and knead again until evenly distributed.
- Place the cloud dough in an airtight container to keep it fresh for future play.
