  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting filters and pipe cleaners.
  • 1-2 pieces Pipe cleaners (any color) Used to secure flower shapes.
  • 1 cup Water For mixing with dye.
  • 2-3 sheets Paper towels To absorb excess dye.
  • 1 flat surface A flat surface to work on Create a good workspace for crafting.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by preparing your dyes. In small bowls, mix drops of food coloring or watercolor with water to achieve the shades you desire.
  • Take a coffee filter and dip one end into the dye, allowing it to absorb the color.
  • Repeat this process with additional filters, layering colors to create harmonious shades.
  • Once the filters are dyed, lay them on paper towels to dry for a little while.

Crafting Flowers

  • After the filters are dry, stack a few together and gently pinch the center to create a flower shape.
  • Secure your flower with a pipe cleaner, twisting it tightly around the center.
  • Fluff the petals open, enjoying the transformation from filter to bloom.
  • Repeat these steps until you have made a lovely bouquet of coffee filter flowers.

Notes

Store finished flowers in a dry place away from sunlight to prevent fading. Refresh appearance by re-dyeing or spritzing with water and color. Invite friends for a crafting session to enhance the creative experience.
