  • 5 pieces Pipe cleaners or floral wire Optional for stems.
  • 1 scissors Scissors For shaping the petals.
  • 1 roll Paper towels For drying and cleanup.

Preparation

  • Begin by setting up your workspace. Lay down paper towels to keep your area tidy.
  • Prepare the dye in a shallow dish by mixing water with a few drops of your chosen dye.
  • Soak a coffee filter in the dye mixture, allowing it to absorb the colors fully.
  • Lift the filter from the dye and place it on a paper towel to dry.
  • Once dry, fold the filter in half twice to form a petal shape.
  • Trim the top edge to create a scalloped shape for the petals.
  • Unfold gently to reveal the flower shape and adjust the petals if needed.
  • Wrap the bottom of the filter with a pipe cleaner or floral wire to create a stem.
  • Repeat the process to create more flowers, experimenting with colors.

Notes

Store the flowers in a safe, dry container. They can be spritzed with water to refresh their vibrancy. Explore different materials and layering techniques for varied effects.
