Materials Needed

  • 10 filters White coffee filters Easy to find at most grocery stores.
  • 5 colors Acrylic paints (choose your favorite colors)
  • 1 bowl A small bowl of water For rinsing the paintbrush.
  • 1 brush Paintbrush A soft brush works best.
  • 1 each Scissors
  • 5 each Pipe cleaners Optional, but great for stems.
  • 1 area A flat place to let the filters dry

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by laying out your coffee filters. Take a moment to appreciate their texture.
  • Pour a small amount of acrylic paint into a palette or on a plate.

Painting

  • Dip your paintbrush into the paint, allowing it to pick up just the right amount.
  • Gently press it to the edge of the coffee filter, allowing the colors to mix and spread.
  • Once satisfied with your design, set the painted filters aside to dry.

Assembly

  • Once the filters are dry, layer two or three filters slightly offset and gather them with a pipe cleaner.
  • Twist the pipe cleaner gently to secure the shape of your flower.

Display

  • Visualize where to display your flowers, or consider gifting them.

Notes

For lasting enjoyment, store your flowers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
