Ingredients

Materials Needed

  • 10 pieces Coffee filters (white or colored) Choice between white or colored filters.
  • 1 set Watercolor paints or markers Easy to find and vibrant options.
  • 1 piece Scissors For careful cutting of filters.
  • 5 pieces Pipe cleaners or floral wire To create stems for the flowers.
  • 1 small bowl Water For activating watercolor paints.
  • 1 bottle Craft glue To secure your flowers together.
  • optional as needed Glitter or sequins For added sparkle to your flowers.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by taking a coffee filter and flattening it out on your work surface.
  • If you are using watercolor paints, lightly dip your brush in water first. Gently dab the brush onto the filter, allowing the color to spread softly.
  • Allow your painted filter to dry on a flat surface.

Creating the Flowers

  • Once dry, pick up the filter and pinch the center. This will form the base of your flower.
  • Carefully fold the sides of the filter around the pinch, creating the shape of petals.
  • To secure, take a pipe cleaner or piece of floral wire and twist it around the base of the filter.
  • Optionally, make additional layers by stacking another filter on top to create fullness.
  • If adding embellishments like glitter, apply a thin layer of glue to the tips of the petals, then sprinkle glitter gently.

Finishing Touches

  • Set your finished flower in a vase or display it wherever you seek a little brightness.

Notes

This cozy project is excellent for both children and adults, promoting mindfulness while crafting.
