Ingredients

Main Materials

  • 5-8 pieces Coffee filters (white or dyed)
  • 12 inches Green floral wire or craft wire Flexible and easy to work with
  • 1 pair Scissors Sharp and nimble
  • 1 roll Floral tape Optional, for a polished look
  • 1 set Food coloring or watercolor paints Optional, for adding color

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by taking several coffee filters (around 5-8) and stack them neatly.
  • Gently fold the filters in half, creating a semicircle. Repeat this fold until you have a long, thin shape.
  • With your scissors, carefully cut the edges of your folded filters to create soft, petal-like curves.
  • Unfold the filters slightly to form the shape of a flower.

Assembly

  • Take your floral wire and cut a length of about 12 inches. Pinch the center of the filters and use the wire to secure the gathered portion.
  • Twist the wire to hold the shape firmly.
  • If desired, wrap floral tape around the wire to create a stem for added support.
  • For added color, brush the edges of the petals lightly with food coloring or watercolor and allow the filters to dry.

Finishing Touch

  • Arrange your peony flowers in a vase or lay them softly across a table.

Notes

These flowers can last for years with proper care. Store them in a soft, cool space away from sunlight to prevent fading. They are also easily customizable for seasonal decor.
