  • 5 pieces Coffee filters (the standard round kind) Best for creating flowers.
  • 2 pieces Washable markers or liquid watercolors Choose colors that inspire you.
  • 1 dish Shallow dish or tray To hold water.
  • 1 cup Water For mixing with the dye.
  • 1 piece Small brush For applying dye.
  • 1 piece Paper towels or drying rack For drying the flowers.
  • optional Green paper or pipe cleaners For stems and leaves.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay out a few coffee filters on your workspace.
  • Using markers, gently draw on the filters, making swirls, dots, or lines.
  • Prepare a shallow dish with water. Dip the brush into the water and gently brush over the colored filters.
  • Allow the coffee filters to rest in the air to observe how the colors dance.
  • Once satisfied with the look, place the filters on paper towels or a drying rack to dry fully.

Assembly

  • When dry, fold the filters slightly or gather them at the center to form a bloom shape.
  • Use green paper or pipe cleaners to create stems for the flowers.

Notes

Store the finished flowers in a dry place, shaped gently to avoid crushing. Refresh look by reshaping or adding color.
