  • 4 pieces White flowers (such as daisies or carnations) Choose fresh flowers for better absorption.
  • 4-6 drops Food coloring (various colors) Experiment with different colors for exciting results.
  • Water Use clean, fresh water.
  • 4 cups Clear vases or cups Ensure they are transparent to observe the color change.
  • 1 piece A spoon for stirring Any clean spoon will do.
  • 1 piece Optional: scissors (for trimming stems) Use to trim stems for better water absorption.

Preparation

  • Cut the ends of the flower stems at an angle to increase the surface area for water absorption.

Mixing Colors

  • Fill each clear vase or cup halfway with water.
  • Add 5-10 drops of your chosen food coloring to each vase or cup.
  • Stir gently with a spoon to mix the color evenly.

Arranging Flowers

  • Place each prepared flower into different colored solutions in the vases or cups for variety.

Observation

  • Set the vases in a well-lit area and observe as the flowers begin to drink the colored water.
  • Check back in a few hours to see the transformation; overnight will yield the most dramatic effects.

Notes

Try mixing colors to create new shades and use different types of white flowers for diverse results. Consider using unique containers to enhance the aesthetic.
