Ingredients
  

For the sugar solution

  • 2 cups Granulated sugar Best for crystal formation
  • 1 cup Water Heated until boiling
  • few drops Food coloring (neon colors preferred) Optional, for vibrant colors

For assembly

  • 1 Glass or plastic containers Clear jars work best
  • 1 Stick or string For hanging crystals
  • 1 Baking sheet Optional for easier cleanup
  • 1 spoon Spoon for stirring
  • 1 cup Measuring cup

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat 1 cup of water in a saucepan until it begins to boil.
  • Gradually add 2 cups of granulated sugar, stirring continuously until fully dissolved.
  • Optional: Add a few drops of food coloring to the solution and mix.

Pouring

  • Carefully pour the sugar solution into your chosen containers, leaving a little space at the top.
  • If using different colors, create separate batches for each color.

Creating Crystals

  • For hanging crystals, tie a string around a stick and place the stick across the top of the container, ensuring the string hangs in the solution.
  • Allow the containers to sit undisturbed at room temperature.

Growing Crystals

  • Leave the setup for 24-48 hours and observe as the crystals start to form.
  • Tip: You can gently check the progress and be amazed at the changing texture.

Finishing Up

  • Carefully remove the crystals from the solution.
  • Let them dry on a baking sheet or a wire rack for a few hours.

Notes

Experiment with colors, shapes, and flavors. Store finished crystals in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Best results with fresh solutions.
