Materials

  • 3 sheets Bioplastic sheets Available at craft stores or online.
  • 1 bottle Food coloring or liquid watercolors Vibrant and easy to mix.
  • 1 pack Paper cutouts or stencils For added designs.
  • 1 sheet Baking parchment or wax paper To prevent sticking.
  • 1 pair Scissors For shaping your suncatchers.
  • 1 oven Oven For setting the bioplastic.
  • 1 tray Baking tray To hold your projects in the oven.
  • 1 optional Natural wax or protective spray For longevity.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  • Cut your bioplastic sheets into desired shapes like circles, hearts, or stars.
  • Place the cut shapes onto baking parchment or wax paper on your baking tray.

Coloring

  • Add drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors onto each shape.
  • Gently use a toothpick to swirl the colors together.

Baking

  • Once satisfied with the colors, place your tray in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for about 15–20 minutes until the bioplastic becomes soft.
  • Carefully remove the tray and let your creations cool for a few minutes.

Finishing Touches

  • Once cool, use a hole punch to create an opening for hanging.
  • If desired, apply natural wax or protective spray for extra shine.
  • Hang your beautiful suncatchers in windows or doorways.

Notes

Store suncatchers in a dedicated box or soft fabric pouch to prevent damage. Reshape them by warming slightly in the oven if needed. Keep out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.
