  • 2 cups Water Use boiling water for best results.
  • various colors Pipe cleaners Different colors for customization.
  • 1 piece Plastic cup or container For mixing solution.
  • optional Food coloring Add to the solution for colored geodes.
  • 1 piece Craft stick or spoon For stirring the mixture.
  • 1 piece Baking tray or parchment paper For drying the geodes.

Instructions
 

Shaping the Geodes

  • Take several pipe cleaners and twist them into your desired shapes. Consider making clusters or intricate designs.

Preparing the Solution

  • In a plastic cup, mix 2 cups of boiling water with 1 cup of borax.
  • Stir with a craft stick until the borax is fully dissolved.

Adding Color

  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring into the solution.

Combining

  • Carefully place your shaped pipe cleaners into the borax solution.
  • Leave them submerged for several hours or overnight for optimal crystal formation.

Drying

  • After the waiting period, remove the pipe cleaners from the solution.
  • Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper to dry completely.

Notes

Experiment with different pipe cleaner shapes and colors. Try adding glitter for extra sparkle. These geodes can also serve as unique gifts or decorative items.
