Colorful Eggshell Geodes

Ingredients
Main Materials
- 6 pieces Clean eggshells About 6 eggshells needed
- 1 cup Epsom salt Can substitute with sugar for a different texture
- 1 cup Water
- various Food coloring Different colors for customizing geodes
- 2 pieces Bowls For mixing
- 1 sheet Baking sheet For drying the eggshells
- optional Parchment paper For lining the baking sheet
Instructions
Preparation
- Carefully rinse and dry the eggshells.
- Split them in half and remove the inner membrane.
Creating Geode Mixture
- In a bowl, mix 1 cup of Epsom salt with 1 cup of water.
- Add food coloring to the mixture until you reach your desired color intensity.
Soaking
- Place the cleaned eggshell halves in the colored mixture.
- Let them soak for several hours to allow color absorption.
Draining and Drying
- Remove the eggshells from the mixture and let excess liquid drain.
- Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Allow them to dry for 24-48 hours until completely hard.
Adding Texture
- If desired, sprinkle more Epsom salt inside the eggshells while they’re still sticky.
- This will give a textured, crystalline look when dry.
Notes
For extra sparkle, add glitter to the Epsom salt mixture. Experiment with ombre effects by layering different colors. Consider adding a few drops of essential oils for fragrance.
