Instructions
Preparation
- Lay out your tray or baking sheet to catch any overflow from the fizzing.
- Gather all materials to ensure you have everything on hand.
Make the Fizzy Trees
- Cut cardboard or paper into tree shapes.
- Decorate with colors, glitter, or other designs.
- Place 1 cup of baking soda in small cups or directly onto the tree base.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the baking soda to create vibrant colors.
- Pour 1 cup of vinegar over the baking soda.
- Observe the fizzing action! The chemical reaction will produce bubbles and foam.
Experiment
- Try using different colors for each tree.
- You can layer more baking soda and vinegar for an even greater fizz effect.
Notes
Color Mixes: Mix food coloring for new colors (e.g., blue + yellow for green). Different shapes can be made instead of trees.
