  • 1 sheet Clear plastic sheets or wax paper
  • 1 bottle Liquid glue (white school glue or clear glue) Clear glue works best for transparency.
  • drops Food coloring or liquid watercolors Use to create various colors.
  • 1 tool Paintbrush or toothpicks For mixing and applying the glue.
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting shapes.
  • 1 dish A small dish or palette for mixing colors
  • optional Glitter For added sparkle.

Preparation

  • Cover your table with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth to catch any spills.
  • Gather all materials within reach.

Creating the Glue Mixture

  • In a dish, mix liquid glue with a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors.
  • Stir with a paintbrush or toothpick until the color is well blended.

Designing Your Suncatcher

  • Use scissors to cut your plastic sheet into your desired shape (circles, hearts, etc.).
  • Use the paintbrush to apply the colored glue onto your plastic shape.
  • Explore swirling different colors together for unique designs.

Adding Sparkle

  • Sprinkle a light layer of glitter on top of your wet glue design for extra sparkle.

Drying the Suncatcher

  • Place your suncatcher in a safe area to dry completely (about 24 hours).

Hanging the Suncatcher

  • Once dry, carefully peel your suncatcher from the plastic and hang it in a sunny window to enjoy its vibrant colors.

Notes

Swap materials for different effects, such as mixing glue with powdered paint or using shape stencils. Change colors and shapes seasonally for a fresh look.
