Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (shells, bowties, or any shape you prefer) Choose any shape you like for sensory play.
  • 1 cup water To be mixed with food coloring.
  • as needed drops food coloring (liquid or gel) Use various colors for different shades.

Supplies

  • 1 each large mixing bowls
  • 1 each Ziplock bags or airtight containers For mixing and storing colored pasta.
  • 1 each baking sheet For drying the colored pasta.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook the pasta by boiling the 2 cups of uncooked pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and let cool slightly.

Coloring

  • In separate mixing bowls or Ziplock bags, add the cooled pasta.
  • Squeeze in a few drops of food coloring and a tablespoon of water for each color you want to create.
  • Seal the bags (or use your hands in bowls) and thoroughly mix until the pasta is evenly coated in color.

Drying

  • Once colored, place the pasta in a single layer on a baking sheet to dry.
  • Allow the pasta to air-dry completely for a few hours or overnight.

Notes

Experiment with mixing colors for unique shades. Add essential oils for a scented experience. Different pasta shapes can enhance texture.
