Materials

  • 1 piece White paper or cardstock Easy to find
  • 1 cup Water
  • a few drops Food coloring (various colors) Feel free to substitute with natural dyes
  • 2-3 pieces Small containers for mixing Like cups or bowls
  • 3-4 pieces Paintbrushes or droppers
  • 1 piece Plastic wrap Optional, for preserving artwork
  • 1-2 teaspoons Salt Optional, for added texture
  • 1 piece A tray or table cover To catch spills

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by laying out your materials in a comfortable space.
  • Prepare petites containers with water, filling them with a splash from the tap.

Color Mixing

  • Add several drops of food coloring into each container and observe how they swirl and disperse.
  • Using a brush or dropper, dip it into one of the colored mixtures and gently touch it to the paper.
  • Experiment with layering colors, watching as they blend to create new shades.
  • If desired, sprinkle a light dusting of salt onto the wet paint.

Finishing Up

  • Carefully cover the artwork with plastic wrap to preserve the colors.
  • Set the piece in a warm spot to dry, revisiting the joy of the colors you created.

Notes

Consider using natural dyes or inviting friends and family to join the process. Each session can yield unique creations.
