Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather your materials and ensure an appropriate workspace that is easy to clean.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a medium-sized bowl, mix the cornstarch and baking soda together until well blended.
  • Gradually pour in the water, stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  • Crush the white chalk into a fine powder and add it to the mixture.

Cooking the Mixture

  • Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Cook until the dough thickens and forms a ball that pulls away from the sides.

Cooling and Kneading

  • Remove the dough from the heat and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Once cool, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and pliable.

Coloring (Optional)

  • If desired, divide the dough into portions and add food coloring, mixing until you reach the desired shade.

Notes

Store the dough in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. Refrigeration can extend its shelf life. Explore natural dyes for colors or swap white chalk for colored chalk for enhanced visual appeal.
