Instructions
Preparation
- Choose a clean, flat surface.
- Lay down wax paper or a baking sheet to protect your work area.
Mixing Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup cornstarch and 1 cup baking soda.
- Stir the dry ingredients together until well blended.
- Slowly pour in 3/4 cup of water.
- If desired, add 1 teaspoon of essential oil for fragrance.
- Add a few drops of food coloring for a festive touch.
Cooking
- Pour the mixture into a cooking pot.
- Heat on low to medium heat, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon.
- Watch for the dough to thicken and form a ball, about 3-5 minutes.
Cooling and Kneading
- Once the dough pulls away from the sides of the pot, remove it from heat.
- Transfer to the wax paper and allow to cool for a few minutes.
- Once cool enough to handle, knead the dough until smooth.
Storage
