Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of cornstarch and 2 cups of baking soda. Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
  • Gradually pour in 1.5 cups of water while continuously stirring. Optionally, add food coloring for a festive touch.

Cooking

  • Transfer the mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens to a dough-like consistency.
  • Once thickened, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Kneading and Shaping

  • Knead the cooled dough by hand until smooth.
  • Shape the dough into ornaments or fun creations. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before use.

Notes

For variations, mix different food colorings or add essential oils. Seal dried creations with clear varnish for durability.
