Ingredients

For the dough

  • 1 cup cornstarch Main ingredient for the dough.
  • 1 cup baking soda To help thicken the dough.
  • 1 cup water To combine with cornstarch and baking soda.

For crafting

  • 1 small pot pot for cooking To heat the mixture.
  • 1 set silicone heart molds Heart-shaped molds or any shape you prefer.
  • 1 each rolling pin For flattening the dough.
  • 1 each soft surface For kneading the dough.
  • optional natural flowers or leaves For embellishing the pendants.

Instructions

Mixing

  • In a small pot, combine the cornstarch, baking soda, and water. Stir gently until everything is well blended.

Cooking

  • Place the pot on medium heat. Stir constantly as the mixture thickens until it forms a ball.

Kneading

  • Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly. Knead the dough on a soft surface once it’s warm but not too hot.

Rolling and Shaping

  • Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough to about half an inch thick.
  • Press the rolled dough into the heart-shaped molds, optionally placing flowers or leaves for embellishment.

Drying

  • Carefully remove the hearts from the molds and lay them on a soft cloth. Let them air dry completely.

Finishing Touches

  • Once dry, paint or decorate your pendants with gentle paints or natural dyes.

Notes

Store the pendants in a dry, cool place. To reshape or reuse them, soak them in warm water and remold as desired. Add natural food coloring or spices for color, and experiment with textures by rolling in herbs.
