  • 1 cup cotton candy (store-bought or homemade) Colors can include pink, blue, or any desired color.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Insert a stick into the top of each apple, ensuring it’s secure for dipping.

Making the Candy Coating

  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Attach a candy thermometer to the side and continue to cook without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).

Coloring the Coating

  • Once it reaches 300°F, remove the saucepan from heat.
  • Quickly add a few drops of your chosen food coloring and stir gently to mix.

Dipping and Swirling

  • Carefully dip each apple into the candy coating, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Roll the coated apple in cotton candy for a swirl of color and flavor.

Cooling

  • Place the finished apples on a sheet of parchment paper and let them cool completely until the coating hardens.

Notes

Consider using flavored candy melts for different tastes or adding toppings like sprinkles for a fun twist. Store the candy apples in a cool, dry place, avoiding refrigeration.
