Craft Materials

  • 1 sheet Colorful cardstock or paper
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting shapes
  • 1 stick Glue stick or craft glue
  • 1 piece Pipe cleaners For the body
  • 1 set Markers or colored pencils For decoration
  • 1 set Googly eyes (optional) For added charm
  • 1 length String or fishing line For hanging
  • 1 pack Glitter (optional) For extra sparkle

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut out two large wing shapes from the colorful cardstock, focusing on the butterfly or dragonfly style you prefer.
  • Decorate the wings with markers or colored pencils, adding patterns or glitter as desired.

Body Creation

  • Cut a pipe cleaner to your preferred length for the dragonfly's body.
  • Optionally, twist another piece of pipe cleaner to create antennae and attach them to the top.

Assembly

  • Glue the wings to the top of the body, and press firmly for a secure bond.
  • If using googly eyes, glue them onto the head of the body.

Hanging Mechanism

  • Cut a piece of string or fishing line and attach it to the dragonfly’s body for hanging.
  • Ensure it is secure so that the dragonfly can flutter freely.

Display

  • Hang the dragonfly in a sunny spot where it can catch the light and dance with the breeze.

Notes

Consider using fabric instead of paper for a different texture. Glow-in-the-dark paint can make your dragonfly visible at night. You can experiment with various sizes for a dynamic display. Enjoy crafting with friends or family for a collective display.
